Mountain railway tunnel

13km of the 34.5km Gaoligong mountain tunnel was driven by one CREG 9.03m gripper TBM and the rest was excavated by Drill and Blast in the Darui Railway Project. The CREG belt conveyor system powered by a centralized head drive with four 315kW electrical motors guaranteed fast and smooth transport of excavated material. The robust and telescopic frame offered more flexibility while the 650m horizontal belt storage unit mounted on the belt conveyor system ensured supply of extra belt material and long-term function.
