Project overview

The Pearl River Delta is one of the most densely populated areas and economic centers in China. Sufficient water supply for the steadily growing population of the region covering Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Dongguan and even Hong Kong has been a big challenge.

The Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project aims to divert water from Xijiang River in the west to Dongjiang River in the east. This project will prevent water scarcity and build a reservoir-emergency water storage system for Hong Kong.

CREG continuous and vertical belt conveyors were used for mucking-out in Lot A7 twin tunnel excavation and 29 TBMs from CREG will be used to excavate a total tunnel length of 113km in The Pearl River Delta.
